Nigel Tubbs

Nigel Tubbs is professor of philosophy and education at University of Winchester. His most recent publication Socrates On Trial imagines what might happen if Socrates returned to a modern city (the polis) to find a society divided by power, privilege and prejudice. Nigel teaches daily across the Liberal Arts programmes at Winchester. His teaching and publications explore how the relationship between philosophy and education affects the concept of 'the teacher', the concept of 'education,' the definition of what counts as 'philosophy', and the shape of the history of western philosophy more generally. His publications include Philosophy and Modern Liberal Arts: Freedom is to Learn, and God, Education, and Modern Metaphysics.
